Misrepresentation Act

Information and technical data contained on-line, in catalogues and in technical publications is for guidance purposes only and we will not be held responsible for any mistakes and / or wrong interpretations of such information. We will also not be held liable for verbal representations about any of our products.

Acceptance of Order

These conditions shall govern the terms upon which we shall supply the products and if applicable, the services, so that any conditions contained in or referred to in your purchase order shall not bind unless we expressly agree in writing to vary these conditions.

An order is not accepted until sends written acknowledgement to the purchaser, or part or all of the products ordered are despatched. Fire Extinguishers Direct reserves the right to terminate or withdraw any order for whatever reason it sees fit, without explanation to the purchaser.

Cooling off Period

As a consumer you are entitled to a cooling off period. The cooling off period begins as soon as the order has been placed. In the case of goods, the cooling off period ends seven working days after the day of receipt of the goods. In the case of services, it ends seven working days after the day the order was placed. The cooling off period is to provide the consumer a chance to examine the goods in person which is not available when purchasing over the internet. If the consumer decides they do not want the item they must inform the seller for a full refund within seven working days of receipt of the goods. The customer then has a further 2 weeks to return the goods.

The cooling off period and right to cancel do not apply to contracts for:

  • goods made to the customer's specification
  • perishable goods (flowers, fresh food)
  • CDs, DVDs, and tapes with software, audio or video if unsealed
  • newspapers and magazines

Product & Information Alterations

Fire Extinguishers Direct reserves the right to withdraw or make alterations to its products without notice or liability. We reserve the right to substitute goods within your order with goods of an equivalent nature. If you do not wish to accept the substituted goods then the products must returned to us within 7 days of receipt.

Returns and Cancellations Policy

You can cancel your order (or any part of it) for any reason before delivery or within 30 days from receipt of delivery (exceptions apply, see below). Email us or call us on 0800 978 8212 if you have not received the goods yet or if you are in possession of the goods and are running close to the end of the 30 days or send us the goods with the return slip filled in.

Please pack the goods in their original packaging. The goods need to be in a re-sellable condition to be refunded. British Standards copies cannot be accepted back if the packaging is opened. Electrical equipment must not have been powered up. Product must not have been installed.

If goods are not returned in original packaging or re-sellable condition we will reduce the refund value to reflect that the product will have to be sold as incomplete or damaged.

We will refund the sales price and the initial postage and packing charges within 14 days of receiving the goods back from you. We do not charge a re-stocking fee.

You need to return the goods to us at your cost within two weeks following your cancellation. Should the goods not be returned within these two weeks, we can offer to collect the goods and will then deduct the carrier charge of this return from your refund.

If you do not require the ordered goods at the point of delivery and you refuse the delivery for this reason, we can deduct the cost for the return shipment from your refund.

If you struggle to return large or heavy items, please contact us on 0800 612 6537 and we can offer collection of the goods. We will then deduct the cost for this collection from your refund. This service is only possible if the collection charges are less than the price paid by you for the product. Heavy items such as safes and collections from remote locations will have significant collection charges. Our staff will quote you a cost for collection based on your product and location.

Products which are made to measure (e.g. Davy Descenders, Sash fire escape windows, etc.), made to order (special varieties of emergency lighting, etc.) or to customer specification (e.g. fire doors with windows, etc.) can not be returned and refunded.

Delivery and Risk

The £9.99 delivery charge is only for orders being delivered to addresses in mainland Britain. Deliveries to Northern Ireland / Southern Ireland and The Highlands and Islands of Scotland will be subject to additional cost quoted at time of order. For orders where delivery is required outside mainland Britain a quotation will be given for carriage costs at the time of order. Unless otherwise specified delivery shall be deemed to take place when the products are delivered to your premises, at the latest within 30 days from order date, or alternative delivery address as specified by the purchaser. A charge may be made for delivery. Any such charge will be detailed at the point of order, though this may be subject to change. Should this delivery charge change the Purchaser will be informed in writing before the goods are despatched. Should the price be unacceptable to the purchaser, will accept a written cancellation of the order, with no penalty to the purchaser. All products despatched by will be delivered by a method of transport selected by in the absence of contrary agreement with the purchaser. Products are at risk of the purchaser from the time of despatch and the purchaser is then liable for the invoice value. Claims from incorrect delivery shortages, damage to goods in transit or other discrepancies notified in writing to and the carrier within seven days of delivery may be considered. Claims for non-delivery will also be considered if notified to within 3 days of the date of despatch shown on the invoice. is not liable for any loss or damage to products returned for repair or credit unless agrees to repair or replace them under warranty and the purchaser sends separate written advice to at the date of despatch and is not negligent in the packing, addressing or choice of transport for the products returned. The purchaser agrees to pay for any loss, or extra cost incurred by through the purchaser's instructions, or lack of instructions, or through failure, or delay in taking delivery, or through any act or default on the part of the Purchaser, its servants, agents or employees.

Secondary Damage

Fire Extinguishers Direct is not liable for any damage to property or consequential loss, e.g. loss of product, loss of profit, loss of goods in store which arises by defects or delays in delivery of products irrespective of the cause, including faulty manufacture.


Fire Extinguishers Direct reserves the right to change, modify, remove or substitute without notice any information shown on the website from time to time. Prices and availability are subject to change. To the extent permitted by law, shall not be liable for direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of the services or products sold from or referred to in this web site, or from the use or inability to use any of the information contained or accessed from this web site. Fire Extinguishers Direct will not be liable for any loss or damage related to any business, such as loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption or any other indirect, special or consequential loss or damage caused to that business. Fire Extinguishers Direct will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our respective obligations under this contract due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If any of these terms or disclaimers shall be unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable then that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.


The price payable by the purchaser is the list price prevailing at the time of despatch less any agreed discount. Fire Extinguishers Direct is entitled to alter list prices and discounts without notice prior to despatch. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, our prices do not include VAT, insurance, carriage, packaging or administration costs which, where applicable, will be added to the total amount due.

Payment of the total contract p rice (plus VAT) is to be made with y our order either by Credit Card or Cheque. Pro-forma invoices can be raised upon request, however payment by either credit card or cheque must be received prior to despatch of goods. Your order will be confirmed by e-mail and the goods despatched once your credit card or cheque payment has been accepted

We charge UK VAT at 20% (VAT no GB827 6397 88).

Customers from the Channel Islands can ask for the VAT to be removed from the invoice total. Please ring our office to place your order, emphasising the Channel Island delivery location.

All transactions are to be paid for in UK Sterling currency.

All delivery dates specified on this site are Monday to Friday only. No deliveries are made on Saturdays or Sundays unless special arrangements are requested and pricing is agreed over the phone . Payments for upgraded delivery services must be paid for in advance with either a credit or debit card.

Age Restrictions

Fire Extinguishers Direct will not supply any person less than 18 years of age.


This warranty is in addition to, and does not affect your statutory rights.

All of our products are guaranteed for a period of 12 months (unless otherwise stated) from the date of delivery against defects in design, materials or workmanship. If there are any such defects then We shall, at our option and expense, repair or replace the defective products free of charge provided that the products have not become defective for any other reason, such as accidental damage or a failure to use or install them in accordance with our instructions.

For fire extinguishers only: If you take out an agreement with u s on or before the date of delivery, for servicing y our extinguishers in accordance with BS5306 : Part 3, We will extend o ur guarantee, subject to the terms set out in condition 7.1 above, to a period of five (5) years from the date of delivery. Please note that service items such as safety pins, O rings, seals, refills et c. are excluded from this guarantee.

Terms of Payment

Invoiced prices are strictly net and unless otherwise agreed in writing are payable at the point of order and before the goods are despatched. If, for whatever reason, goods are despatched to the purchaser before full payment is received, the following conditions apply, without prejudice to any other rights or remedy available to shall be entitled to (a) cancel the contract or suspend any further deliveries to the purchaser; (b) charge the purchaser interest (both before and after any judgement) on the amount unpaid at the rate of 3% per annum above Barclays Bank rate from time to time until payment in full is made (a part of a month being treated as a full month for the purpose of calculating interest).

Transfer of Ownership

Fire Extinguishers Direct remains the owner of the products until it receives full payment of the price invoiced. Until such time as ownership in the products passes to the purchaser, entitled at any time to require the purchaser to return them to and if the purchaser defaults, to enter the premises where the products are stored and repossess them. The purchaser is not entitled to pledge or charge in any way the products which remain owned by and if the purchaser does so all monies owing by the purchaser to shall immediately become due and payable without prejudice to any other right or remedy of Fire Extinguishers Direct.

Whole Agreement

No alteration or variation of the Agreement shall have effect unless in writing and signed by the purchaser and a Director or the Company Secretary on behalf of Fire Extinguishers Direct

Force Majeure

We shall make every effort to comply with our obligations under the terms of the contract but we cannot be held responsible for circumstances which are beyond our reasonable control. If w e are unable to perform our obligations under the contract by reason of any such force majeure event, then w e shall give you notice in writing of the circumstances giving rise to it, and after a period of 3 months either of us shall have the right to terminate the contract by giving notice in writing to the other without any liability except for sums accrued due under the contract.


If either of us shall be in breach of our obligations under the contract then the other may by 7 days notice in writing terminate this contract.

We shall be entitled to terminate the contract immediately without notice if You shall enter into liquidation, receivership, administrative receivership or you make any arrangement or composition with creditors, or if you are an individual, any petition or receiving order in bankruptcy shall be presented or made against you.

If either of us shall terminate the contract in accordance with its terms then such termination shall be without prejudice to our respective accrued rights and obligations.

Amendments or Cancellation

The contract may be amended or cancelled by y ou in accordance with the provisions set out in these conditions or, with o ur written approval, or upon terms which indemnify us against any losses including loss of profit or additional costs resulting there from.


The contract is personal to you and or your company and may not be assigned or otherwise transferred without our written consent.

Governing Law

This contract shall be governed, construed and shall take effect in accordance with the laws of England, and shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

Statutory Rights

Nothing in this agreement shall affect the statutory rights of a consumer.

Trademarks The trademarks, logos and service marks ("marks") displayed on this website are the property of Fire Extinguishers Direct or other third parties. Users are not permitted to use these "marks" without the prior written consent of Fire Extinguishers Direct or such third party which may own the "mark".

Transmission of Personal Data Except as required by law, will maintain the confidentiality of all personal information transmitted to by the user. Any feedback you provide at this Web Site shall be deemed to be non-confidential and will have no obligation to protect such information and may use such information in any way it chooses.
